Allie Armstrong Scholarship Fund

8 May

Dear Family and Friends,

A mentor of mine once told us as we get older we become the guardian of the memories, and since losing Allie that has a whole new meaning to us. Both Tana and I had a different, but no less meaningful, relationship with Allie that has changed each of our lives. Although we know she is better off than either of us, and we will see her again, we have a hole in our hearts and we miss her terribly.

Recently, I have been reading her blog again and have been reminded just how special she was. She was intentional in her relationships, and had a unique ability to draw people to herself. Moreover, folks always seemed to know she had a genuine interest in their lives. Although she did not consider herself a writer, her blog posts drew you in as if she was in the room with you. I know her posts have had a significant impact on so many and that continues today.

When Allie died a scholarship fund at CVCA was launched in her memory. Since inception, the fund has reached about $10,300. My desire is to endow the scholarship which would then provide a $1,000 annual scholarship for a deserving student each and every year. Allie did not attend CVCA, however, Adam her husband is on staff and her daughters will attend the school. Her oldest, Paige, will be a 7th grader at CVCA next year. The Armstrong’s have long been part of the CVCA family.

Allie’s impact on her family, friends, and causes she cared about is immeasurable, and her legacy will continue in the days ahead. One way we can continue to see her impact would be to endow her fund at the $20k level or higher. We want to give you the opportunity to join us in this endeavor to create a lasting gift that honors Allie and blesses students that share her passion for life and love of Christ. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
