Cut-a-thon Blessings

14 May

Today I felt showered with love. It is funny to enter a hair salon with no hair, but wow do some of you have fantastic hair, or if not, a great hairstylist. I want to say a HUGE thank you to Georgie’s salon and their staff, and most definitely Heather, the planner of this fun event. If you attended, like me you probably gained a pound or two from the delicious homemade cinnamon rolls, and other yummy goodies. The salon looked fantastic, and the buzz of all the stylist and helpers was constant. Thank you to all who participated and spent your time and energy helping support our family. I received a phone call from an excited Heather tonight announcing we were given in support over $4,000. WOW. Thank you. We are thankful beyond words.

I also received another exciting phone call from my big brother, Jonathan, this morning announcing he is a match! This is no accident in God’s plan for us. As you could guess there is more waiting. I keep asking, “ok what do I do now?” and at this time the answer is wait. We are waiting for a letter of medical necessity. After that, I am not sure. Their are medical procedures that both Jonathan and I will have to do prior to being set for transplant. We continue to trust and ask God for each step to be His leading. There was no guarantee that either bother would be a match. We are grateful for your prayers and continued seeking of His plan.

‘We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death. By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.’ (1 John 3:14, 16-18 ESV)

Enjoy some fun pics from the day! Again thank you for the out pouring of love and support.
