Local

21 Aug

The armstrong family has decided that we are staying local. We are going to fight against this beast in as many ways as possible. I had a setback this weekend. I began to experience similar bone pain that put me in the hospital in Michigan. Thankfully a bit more prepared with pain meds and experience we are home working through these set backs. I am still experiencing pain, some pain but managing it. As we continue to pray for a miracle. Pray that the pain would subside so I can better enjoy my family

I’ve been wondering about your decision. You are on my mind and in my heart constantly. You always called this thing “the beast” and I’ve taken that term as well. May the Holy Spirit give you comfort in mind and in body.

    Job 6:10
Then I would still have this consolation— my joy in unrelenting pain— that I had not denied the words of the Holy One.

    Allie & family,
Thought this verse was fitting…So grateful to have an update from the Armstrong camp. I hope your pain lessens everyday and that you are able to enjoy your sweet family to the fullest. Continue to praise the Holy One, Allie.

    Hello, Allie!

I have been singing this verse over you and your family:

The LORD your God is with you, He is mighty to save. The Lord will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.

    Zephaniah 3:17

    The DiPaolos love you.

    Allie,

Sorry for such a long entry but as a write my heart starts to spill over and I just keep typing.

Your journey’s blog has been full of hope, despair at times, resignation, success and wonder. But more than anything else your journey and blog has been about love.

The Love of Christ, your family, friends, medical teams, other patients as well as strangers. You have reached out to many people.

The blog has given us all a window into your innermost thoughts. It has refined who you are as a witness to Christ our King by making your struggle so public.

You made a choice of the heart and are willing to battle this disease while staying home with family. No matter what direction you had chosen it would have been the correct one. I know it wasn’t made without a lot of Prayer and interaction from Adam, family and friends and those three beautiful girls whom you call daughters.

It is said a person is not defined by their success and highlights of their lives. A person is defined by how they react and handle the low points and failures. Your low points have not only been physically painful but even more emotionally. Yet through it all you have kept the faith. You are a true witness to Christ the King. He will provide comfort and goodness.

As a group we are all soldiers fighting together through prayer while you have carried the cross.

You like to finish entries with a biblical passage and I through music.

The first and third verse of the hymn ‘Onward Christian Soldiers’ reflects how you have held your Christian faith, carried the staff and have been publically fighting this burden that is called cancer.

Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
with the cross of Jesus going on before.
    Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
forward into battle see his banners go!

Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
with the cross of Jesus going on before.

Onward then, ye people, join our happy throng,
blend with ours your voices in the triumph song.
Glory, laud, and honor unto Christ the King,
this through countless ages men and angels sing.

Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
with the cross of Jesus going on before.

Good triumphs over evil, your faith is strong and in that alone our Lord Jesus Christ will provide for you.

    Love and a big hug,
    Chuck

Precious Allie – RIch and I have been and will continue to wrap you and Adam & the girls in prayers. THinking of you, asking for the bone pain to be reduced, for strength, for peace, and then there is just the wordlessness and asking the Spirit to put our hearts for you into words…

I just sent a facebook message to you and Adam, but didn’t know if you would receive it soon, so I am posting here too . . . we are trying to organize a Day of Prayer for the Armstrong family- to come together with others to lift you up, as I know many, many people are individually doing so on a regular basis. We are hoping to make it official once we hear back from your family and will promote it and spread the word then . . . you are in our prayers and thoughts continually. . . Danielle Chaney
