Words from Aunt Tara

10 Aug

This is Aunt Tara posting for Allie tonight. She is lying here next to me resting so she asked if I would like to blog for her…I find it an honor to post for her! I flew to Michigan almost two weeks ago to join in our annual family vacation which has always been one of Allie’s “all time” favorites and it has been a wild ride ever since! All of you who are followers of the blog know of her journey these past few weeks, and that brings us to today…

As my time here in Ohio comes to a temporary end, my emotions are all a over the board. I have been the “opinionated Aunt”, and nutritional nightmare, as well as her slumber partner since returning to Ohio, so have seen every part of Allie. Her ups and downs, the aches and pains…and through it all, she praises her Lord and wants to do His will.

As I was creaming her body today, I said to her “I just can’t get enough…” Her reply was “just shake it and more cream will come out…” I told her no Allie, I just can’t get enough of you…

Allie has always challenged me in my walk with The Lord…in my darkest times she has encouraged me to trust in Him, she has been an inspiration to me for 32 years, she is my sweet sweet angel.

Isaiah 41:10 NKJV “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

Brad here! Appreciate your update as I always get nervous when a day passes without a posting, so thanks again! Know you are a great Aunt to have for Allie by her side and tending to her needs. As stated, can’t get enough of Allie and who and what she is all about with her love for The Lord. I wish I could be there with “you all” cause I do miss Ohio, especially at a time like this.

I will leave with as Allie would say ” In Him! “

What a privilege and honor it is to be a guest blogger! Well said Aunt Tara! Hoping the rest of your visit you’ll get to soak up as much Allie time as possible! Thanks for the update.
Allie, love the typical mom, women response to “can’t get enough”!! It’s true though, your spirit just shines through you, your love overspills and many just want to bottle it up and take some everyday…we will always be shaking the Allie bottle for more!
    Love you:)

    Thanks for the update.
Like so many others, I have come to know Allie more and more through this blog. I… we cant get enough of you either Allie. Not only cant we get enough, but like the lotion, we want to soak in the gentle softness of your words. We desire a relationship like you have with our Savior for our own lives. We want to trust Him more, love Him more and follow His will through our dark times. When areas in my life have been troubled I have been encouraged by your steadfast faithfulness. Thank you my friend!
Prayers for the pain to lessen and for you to be able to rest comfortably tonight. (((hugs)))

Allie, I’m in agreement with Tara. I also can’t get enough of you and your teachings. I always look forward to your posts on your blog. You’ve inspired so many people to have a relationship with Christ even when things are not going our way. You remind us that God never leaves us. I continue to pray for healing for you.

So much of what you are doing is reflecting God into this world in a way people can embrace and receive – as well as bringing Glory to His Name in doing so.

Hello from Houston . This is my third attempt to send a note. The first started with Adams blog . I could never find a “closing statement”. I’d wait until I could find the words. When I returned there were no words. Can’t be saved. I’ll wait til next time . Moms (Tana) words came , my thoughts flourished, the that time came again…..and it happened .! This is the third attempt and now I’ve learned . Tara, thank you for your update. How fortunate you have been to spend quality time with Allie. She has such a magical presence. I don’t believe she understands the impact she has on others . Some of whom she has never met, those of us that have been fortunate to have been blessed by her,Adam and her beautiful girls for just a short time. She is a mentor, disciple, child, wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend. Each of her roles are done with intent ,love, concern. I find myself checking daily for updates on Allie. Along with her updates are inspirational messages that carry her and all of us that love her, along her journey. Allie with Adam make an steadfast team. I’ve witnessed how they depend on each other every step without speaking at times . Truly two hearts bonded as one. LOVE . Adams love for Allie and their girls allow them to have the strong foundation . Thank you Adam for ALL you do ! As another day is here and my heart and thoughts of you all are near I will press send. Waiting for words from Ohio, because, we all can’t get enough of Allie. Love you all Armstrong Family , Donna

Thanks for the update. You are an amazing family, made in God’s image, walking in faith through rough times. I read a saying, “your life might be the only chapter of Scripture that somebody reads.” Allie and Adam, you write well, you example Christ to us all. The strands of cord represented by aunts, uncles, parents, siblings, children and friends cannot be broken or pulled away. Hosea 11:4
